Bila is a point-of-sale and billing app for small shops in Sri Lanka, such as grocery stores, pharmacies, boutiques and hardware shops. It runs on the phone, tablet or laptop you already own. You don't need a barcode scanner, a receipt printer or an app store.

What it does,

• Works without internet. Every sale is saved on your device first and sync to the cloud when the connection comes back.

• WhatsApp receipts. Send a branded digital receipt to any customer on WhatsApp as a link or a PDF. You don't need paper, printer ink or the WhatsApp Business API.
• Inventory built in. Stock goes down with every sale. You get low-stock alerts, can record received goods and wastage, and can import your whole catalog from a CSV file.
• Staff and outlets. Give cashiers their own logins, see sales per staff member, and run several outlets with combined reports.
• Camera barcode scanning (Pro plan). Your phone's camera works as a barcode scanner.

Getting started takes a few minutes. Sign up with your shop name, your name and your phone number. Then add products by typing them in, taking photos or importing a CSV, and start billing.

Pricing is in rupees and starts at LKR 999 a month. Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial, and you don't need a card. After the trial, you pay by bank transfer: upload a photo of the deposit slip in the app and your shop is activated, usually within one working day.

Bila installs straight from your browser as an app. It opens full screen and starts in one tap from your home screen. Each shop's data is kept separate and synced over an encrypted connection. That's about 1,700 characters, which is well under the 4,000 limit.
