1. This agreement
This agreement is between you, the developer, and the AppKade team, who operate AppKade. It applies when you create an AppKade account to list apps, and you accept it each time you submit a listing for review. The Terms of Use, Listing Policy and Privacy Notice are part of it.
If you list apps on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to accept this agreement for that business.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement.
- Keep your profile accurate and your email address current; we use it for review decisions and enquiry alerts.
- Your account is for you. Keep access to your email and Google account secure; you are responsible for what happens in your AppKade account.
- Your display name, profile picture, bio, website and GitHub link, if you add them, are shown publicly. So is how you publish (as an individual, a brand or nickname, or a company) and whether you are Verified. A display name can be a nickname or a brand; you don’t have to use your legal name publicly.
- Your legal name or company is kept private: only you and AppKade see it. Please give a legal name or company that is truly yours; giving false details ends your account.
- A mobile number you confirm with a code we text you is the only phone number on your account. It is private unless you choose to show it on your profile; otherwise buyers see only that you are “Contactable”. Confirm only a number that is yours and that you answer.
3. Listings and review
- You can have up to 5 listings on the free plan, and up to 2 of them live at once, counting apps, AI models, datasets and listings for sale together. Drafts, listings in review, listings with changes requested, live listings and suspended listings all count towards the 5. A rejected new listing, a listing you or we withdraw, or a sale listing marked sold frees its place. You can send a listing for review while 2 are live, but we can only publish it once you withdraw a live listing or mark one sold. We may agree more listings with you, for example for a research lab.
- For AI models and datasets you also confirm that they contain no personal data, that you have the right to license them, and, for a model, that its training data and base model allow your licence (see the Listing Policy). A dataset’s sample file is published for anyone to download.
- Every new listing and every change to a live listing is reviewed before it goes public. The live version stays up until an update is approved.
- We will approve, request changes or reject each submission, and give a reason when we request changes or reject. We aim to review within 2 working days, but this is not guaranteed.
- Whether to publish a listing is our decision. We may decline listings that meet the written rules if we reasonably believe they would harm buyers or AppKade.
4. Your responsibilities
You sell and support your app, not AppKade. You are responsible for:
- keeping your listing accurate, including its description, screenshots, links and pricing model, and updating it when they change;
- your app itself, its pricing, payment, delivery, licensing, refunds and customer support;
- publishing your own terms, refund policy and privacy policy where the law or your customers expect them;
- complying with Sri Lankan law that applies to you, including consumer protection, tax and data protection law;
- replying to genuine enquiries within a reasonable time.
5. Buyer enquiries
When a buyer sends you an enquiry, they share their name, email address, optional phone number and message with you so you can respond. You become responsible for that information under the PDPA. You must:
- use it only to respond to that enquiry and to deal with the buyer about the app they asked about;
- not add buyers to marketing lists or share their details with anyone else without their separate consent;
- keep it secure and delete it when you no longer need it.
Please mark enquiries as contacted, converted or closed in your dashboard, and, if you are willing, record the value of a sale. It helps us understand whether AppKade is working for developers. Only you and AppKade can see these details. We send one reminder if an enquiry is still marked new after 3 days.
6. Ownership and permission to list
Each time you submit a listing you confirm that:
- you own the app, or have written permission from its owner to market and distribute it;
- you have the rights to the name, logo, screenshots, text and links in the listing;
- the app and listing do not infringe anyone else’s intellectual property or break the Listing Policy.
We may ask you to show evidence of ownership or authorisation, such as a live app on your domain, a store listing, or a letter from the owner. If you cannot, we may reject or remove the listing.
7. Permission to display your content
You keep ownership of your listing content. You give AppKade a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide permission to host, display, format and link to it, for operating and promoting AppKade, including on social media and in newsletters that feature listed apps. This permission ends when your listing is removed, except for copies in backups and review records we keep under the Privacy Notice.
8. Fees
Listing on AppKade is currently free. If we introduce paid features, such as featured placement, they will be optional, we will publish their prices, and we will give at least 30 days’ notice before any charge applies to you. AppKade never takes a share of your app’s sales, because we do not process them.
9. Suspension and removal
We may suspend a live listing (hide it temporarily while keeping its slot), or archive it (remove it permanently), if it breaks this agreement or the Listing Policy, if we receive a credible complaint, or if we reasonably believe it could harm buyers. In urgent cases, such as suspected fraud or malware, we act first and tell you afterwards.
We will tell you the reason by email and in your dashboard. If you disagree, reply to support@appkade.lk with any information we should consider, and we will look at it again.
Developers show one of these levels. Not verified means we have only confirmed the email address. Contactable means you confirmed a Sri Lankan mobile number with a code we texted you. A Verified badge means we confirmed that you control the website or GitHub account on your profile and that you confirmed your mobile number with a code we texted you; a Registered business label also means we found your company in the public register. You can ask for Verified from your dashboard once you have a published app or a live listing for sale and are Contactable. You must also have given your private legal name or company before you submit a listing for sale or to review, and be Contactable before you submit a listing for sale. Changing the website, GitHub link or company details we checked removes the badge or label until we check them again, and we may remove it if the details stop being accurate. Giving false details ends your account.
10. Leaving AppKade
You can withdraw a listing from your dashboard at any time, and ask us to close your account by emailing support@appkade.lk. We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break this agreement. Sections on buyer data, ownership and responsibility continue to apply after you leave.
11. Responsibility for claims
You are responsible for claims made against AppKade by buyers or other people that arise from your app, your listing or your breach of this agreement, including intellectual property claims, and you will cover reasonable costs we incur as a result.
AppKade is provided free of charge to developers. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost sales, lost profits or indirect losses, or for a listing being unavailable, suspended or removed under this agreement. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes and law
We may update this agreement; we will email you about significant changes at least 14 days before they take effect, and continuing to list after that means you accept them. This agreement is governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over disputes about it.
