1. Who can write a review
Only buyers who sent an enquiry about the app through AppKade. About a week after the enquiry, we email them once with a personal link to review it. Each buyer can review an app once. We send an address at most 3 of these emails in 30 days, and every one has a link to stop them for good.
The app’s developer can’t review their own app, and enquiries we mark as spam or tests don’t get an invitation. There’s no other way to write a review on AppKade.
2. What “Verified enquiry” means
It means the review came from the email address that sent an enquiry about that app on AppKade. It shows that the reviewer was a real prospective buyer who was in touch with the developer.
It doesn’t prove that they bought the app: AppKade doesn’t handle sales. Reviewers say whether they’re using the app or tried it, and we show that next to their review.
3. How reviews are checked
A person at AppKade reads every review before it’s published, usually within 3 working days. We decline reviews that:
- aren’t about the app, or are spam or adverts;
- include personal details, such as phone numbers or addresses;
- are abusive, hateful or threatening;
- come from someone connected to the developer or a competitor, as far as we can tell.
We never decline or remove a review because it’s negative, and we publish good and bad reviews in the same way. Developers can’t remove or edit reviews, and nobody pays for reviews or gets anything for writing them.
4. How ratings are shown
Every published review is shown on the app’s page, newest first. The average rating and the breakdown by stars appear once an app has 3 or more published reviews, so a single review doesn’t define an app. The average is a simple average of every published review, with no weighting.
Reviews are shown with the reviewer’s chosen name, usually their first name and initial.
5. Developer replies
The developer is told when a review of their app is published, and can post one public reply to it, which they can edit or delete. Replies follow the same rules as reviews, and we remove replies that break them.
6. Reporting a review
Anyone can report a review with “Report this review” under it, for example if it’s fake or shares personal details. We look at every report and remove reviews that break these rules.
Reviewers can ask us to change or remove their own review by emailing support@appkade.lk from the address they used. Developers who think a review breaks these rules should report it rather than ask the reviewer to change it.
7. Questions and answers
“Questions and answers” on an app’s page are written by its developer and checked with the listing. They’re the developer’s own claims, not reviews. See also our Listing Policy and how we handle reviewers’ information.
